An album released in 1962 by American saxophonist Sonny Red, who started his career in the late 50s playing with Curtis Fuller and Art Pepper, and left leader works on Blue Note and Jazzland since the 60s. The album features trumpeter Blue Mitchell, who began his career in an R&B band and joined Horace Silver's group in 1958 before leaving many works with his own group, and guitarist Grant Green, who left numerous soul-jazz masterpieces on Blue Note. The album also includes Barry Harris (p), George Tucker (b), Lex Humphries (ds), and Jimmy Cobb (ds). Highlights include a cool groove with Latin-feeling rhythms on A1, and the satisfying blues interplay between Mitchell's trumpet and Red's alto with a rich tone on B1, delivering excellent performances throughout. This is the reissued US version released in 1984 by Fantasy's Original Jazz Classics.
