This is a double album released in 1978 by American saxophonist Sonny Rollins, who is regarded as one of the most influential jazz musicians, having collaborated with Miles Davis, Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, and many others. The album features Donal Byrd (trumpet), Aurell Ray (guitar), Mark Soskin (piano), Jerry Harris (bass), and Tony Williams (drums), and includes live recordings from a concert held in 1978 at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. It showcases excellent performances with a tropical feeling of Latin rhythms in the exhilarating A1 track, and a groovy jazz-funk tunes in B2/C1/D2, embodying the crossover taste of the late 1970s.
