This album was released in 1971 by Ramnad Krishnan, a singer of South Indian classical music, from Nonesuch Explorer Series of Nonesuch what is the prestigious American label that has released many field recordings of historical value. This is a traditional classical music from Karnataka in South India. The composition of violin, mridangam, kanjira, and tambura starts with a meditative drone and progresses to a very rhythmic sound like a kaleidoscope with different time signatures such as 4+4+2, 3+2+2, and 2+4. Ramnad Krishna's intonational singing is also wonderful and draws you into his world.
