This is an album released in 1969 by Steve Marcus, an American saxophonist who emerged with Jazz in the Classroom and Buddy Rich Big Band, and left behind a number of classic albums with a sound that responded to the psychedelic movement in the mid-60s and beyond. This album features Herbie Hancok (p), Miloslav Vitous (b), Bob Moses (ds), Larry Clack (ds), and others. The album features Marcus' signature heavy bottoms rock feeling, from his own original scores to covers of rock and traditional
tunes such as The Beatles' "Hey Jude," The Troggs' "Wild Thing" and Bob Dylan's "Tom Thumb's Blues. From psychedelic jazz rock to deep spiritual free jazz, this is a great performance that keeps you on your toes from start to finish. There is some vinyl sunburn on both sides, but it does not affect the playback sound so much.
