An album released in 1979 by Suihoh Tohsha, the first generation of the Tohsha school, one of the Nagauta-Hayashi-Kata styles in Kabuki. This is a duo performance with Roetsu Tohsha, a percussionist from the same school. The album transitions seamlessly from weightless, meditative sounds, featuring a glass flute and metallic percussion instruments with chime-like tones that evoke endless, transparent beauty reminiscent of natural landscapes, to dynamic Japanese melodies and rhythms full of vitality. This neo-traditional meditative ambient music elevates Japanese traditional performing arts into a modern context. Highly recommended for fans of ethnic jazz, as well as admirers of Eitetsu Hayashi, Toshiyuki Tsuchitori, and Geinoh Yamashirogumi. A must-listen.
