This is an early representative work by Terry Riley, a living legend and psychedelic minimalist who is still active today. Each instrument (saxophone, vibraphone, clarinet, trombone, marimba, etc.) repeats a different pattern in a minimalist way, and when they overlap and interlock, a new melody is born. Although side A is 23:50 long and side B is 19:10 long, you will forget the passage of time as you are drawn into the sound. There is always something new to listen to. Highly recommended.
