This is a 1973 leader album by Terumasa Hino, a Japanese trumpeter who has received global acclaim since the 1960s and has remained active at the forefront of jazz for decades. The album features a quintet comprising Mikio Masuda (piano), Yoshio Ikeda (bass), Motohiko Hino (drums), and Yuji Imamura (percussion), recorded live at The Jazzclub Domicile in Munich, Germany, in 1973. Highlights include A1, where Hino's trumpet weaves moody melodies with dynamic phrasing against a steady rhythm section; A2, which burns with cool intensity alongside primal percussion and expansive drumming; and the 25-minute-long B1, a gripping session bookended by stylish percussion. A masterpiece showcasing exceptional performances throughout.
A1: Alone, Alone and Alone
