The Flying Lizards' first album, released in 1979, featured a flexible group of improvisational musicians including David Cunningham, David Toop and Steve Beresford. Featured Motown soul singer Barrett Strong's hit "Money (That's What I Want)" and a post-modern cover of Eddie Cochran's "Summer Time Blues". In addition to this, the band's experimental sound production was quite outrageous for the late seventies. Yasuaki Shimizu has declared it to be one of his most influential works of the time. It's always great to listen.
