This is a leader album released in 1967 by American vibraphonist Gary Burton, who has been active since the early 1960s and has left many outstanding works on ECM as well. The album features a quartet with Steve Swallow (bass), who also collaborated with Burton on ECM's "Hotel Hello" in 1975, along with Larry Coryell (guitar) and Roy Haynes (drums). From the pleasingly intricate rhythms and melodies of tracks like A1/B1 to melancholic contemporary jazz and avant-garde jazz, this album showcases seamless performances. It's also notable how Coryell's guitar adds a rock-like element to the mix. This reissue was released in 1981 as part of RVC's "RCA Immortal Jazz 1800" series.
