This is the debut album by Chicago-based pianist John Wright, released on Prestige in 1960. Trio with Wendell Robert (b) and Walter McCants (ds). A masterpiece of superb soul jazz, featuring original scores by himself and Roberts, as well as slow, leisurely performances of blues numbers written by Esmond Edwards and Armond Jackson. A1/A2/A3 are especially great. This is a US reissue US in 1990 on the Original Jazz Classics Limited Edition Series. The sound quality is also excellent.
