DSP-4008 (LP) Original pressing. Promotional copy. White label. w/insert(dirts.)
sleeve : VG+(DJS, dirts.)
media : NM-/NM-(some very slightly noises. still fine condition.)

This was featured in the guidebook OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION. It’s a hidden masterpiece album released in 1983 by Today’s Latin Project, a one-off collaboration involving a wide array of Japanese jazz, fusion, rock, and Latin musicians, including Kazuteru Misasagi of Tokyo Cuban Boys, as well as Yasuo Shimizu, Morio Watanabe, Shigeharu Mukai, Kazuo Otani, Yoshinori Nomi, and Junichi Yasaka. Produced by Kazuteru Misasagi, seven of the eight tracks on this album are covers of Afro-Cuban and Latin classics, with one original composition by Yasuo Shimizu. The spotlight shines on the four tracks on side B arranged by Yasuo Shimizu, where he showcases his distinctive Latin music production. Blending live instruments with electronics, Shimizu’s production style connects directly to the ideas he explored in his 1981 solo masterpiece Kakashi and in Utakata no Hibi, Mariah’s album released in the same year as this project. His unique sound production style, merging traditional Latin music with electronic elements, is particularly noteworthy. His younger sister, Mieko Shimizu, who also contributed vocals to the 1989 classic album Dementos, lends her voice to B2 as well. This is a promo copy of the original pressing. The outer sleeve shows minor wear, but the vinyl itself is in excellent condition.
