This album was released in 1978 by Toshiro Mayuzumi, one of the most famous composers and contemporary musicians in postwar Japan, who introduced music concrete, electronic music and avant-garde music to Japan in the early 1950s, and who himself released many compositions influenced by them. This album includes "Nirvana Symphony" (1959) and "Mandala Symphony" (1960), which were composed as part of a series expressing the Buddhist world and are considered Mayuzumi's greatest masterpieces. "Nirvana" was composed by Yuzo Toyama, and "Mandala" was composed by Kazuo Yamada. Performed by the NHK Symphony Orchestra. This is a space of cosmic meditation created by three groups of orchestra and chorus with a total of 200 members. The artwork is also very impressive.
