Introduced in the guidebook "OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION". This is a masterpiece album released in 1984 by Toshiyuki Tsuchidori, who started his career as a modern jazz and free jazz musician, and later shifted to an improvisational musician using ethnic instruments from around the world. This piece is a performance of a stone called Sanukaito, which is produced in Sanuki, Kagawa Prefecture and has been used by the ancients since the Paleolithic period, with a primitive and spiritual percussion sound throughout. Side B features an ensemble with South Indian pot drums. The hard hitting sound. A lot of overtones appeals to our DNA and takes us back to the ancient times. When I think of musicians who play with stones and vases, Stephan Micus and Kim Byoung Duk of Korea come to mind, but this is a unique originality that surpasses them all. Super recommended.
