This album was released in 1987 by Trio CDL, a French group consisting of Jean-Pierre Chalet (piano), Claude Louam (g), and Jean-Jacques Decreux (basson). As the title suggests, the album is a drumless piano trio work with free improvisation. side B features avant-garde interplay free from Western musical scales, but the tension is gentle throughout, and the soft melodies of acoustic piano and bassoon create a sense of the European countryside. A1 and A2 are beautiful, with a nostalgic worldview that depicts the European countryside. (Chee)
