A compilation album by Japanese jazz artists released in 1973 by Warner Pioneer. This record utilized the then cutting-edge technology of quadraphonic (4-channel) sound and features numerous top Japanese jazz musicians, including Norio Maeda, George Kawaguchi, Takeshi Inomata, Motohiko Hino, and Kiyoshi Sugimoto. The album includes nine tracks, each performed by different ensembles, featuring jazz classics and movie music. Maeda arranged seven tracks and Satoh arranged two. The album showcases the excellent performances of Japanese jazz musicians across various styles, from drum battles to bop, bossa jazz, and soul jazz. The highlight is B1 by the New Jazz Sextet, which offers a restrained and cool modal jazz cover of "St. Louis Blues." The electric piano on this track is particularly outstanding.
