Korean Folk Songs Vol. 2
Dae Do Records (South Korea) 1974
DSF-7242 (LP)
sleeve : EX-(TEOC, wear on corner, one light wrinkle, some slightly dirts on back.)
media : EX-/EX-(slightly background noises.)

This is the second volume of a collection of Korean classical folk songs released by Daae Do Records in Korea in 1974. The music is performed by the Dae Do Traditional Music Ensemble, and the singers are Lee Eunjoo, a master of Gyeonggi folk songs from Seoul and the Gyeonggi region, and Ji Hwaja and Ko Baekhwa, representative singers of Gangwon-do folk songs. The tunes and melodies are very similar to Japanese folk songs and enka, which reminds us again that one of the roots of Japanese music culture is here, but the unique strength of the melodies and verses is unique to Korean folk songs. Highly recommended.
