This album was released in 1967 from JVC's "Contemporary Japanese Music Series". The theme of the album is contemporary music with Japanese classical instruments. It includes the historical masterpiece "Eclipses" by Toru Takemitsu, "Music for 4 Kotos” by Yoshio Mamiya, and "Poem of Tree and Stone" by Masao Matsumoto. A1, "Eclipse," was performed by biwa player Kinshi Tsuruta and shakuhachi player Katsuya Yokoyama. B1, "Music for 4 Kotos," is a koto quartet by Sumiko Goto, Akiko Yazaki, Teiko Kikuchi, and Mitoko Takahata, with a hint of minimalism. B3, "Poem of Tree and Stone," seems to be the most Japanese melody.

A1: Toru Takemitsu “Eclipse for biwa and shakuhachi”
B1: Michio Mamiya “Music for 4 kotos”
