This is an album of performances of gamelan, the traditional music of Bali, Indonesia, released in 1982 as part of Victor's "Digital Superlative Sound" series that introduced the latest digital recording technology in the early 1980s. In the performance of Gamelan Gong Kebyar, one of the most recent gamelan created at the end of the 1910s, I would like to focus on the music A2, which accompanies a dance by three young girls created in the court over several generations. The main point of the piece is the introduction of a chant by a woman, which represents the transformation of the girl into a king, queen, or bird.

A1: Kebyar Jaya Semara
A2: Legong Lasem
