Released in 1982 from King Records' "Folk Music Library" series, this album introduces Korean traditional music played by instrumental ensembles. Korean traditional music is said to have developed under the influence of Chinese music, and its present-day foundation was established between the 14th and early 20th centuries. It has many similarities in instruments and sounds, but it also has a distinctive rhythmic style called "jangda" (long and short), which is based on three beats and combines different beats, as well as improvisation in the instrumental ensembles called "sangyong" and "sinawi. I feel that this music is very unique. It is very attractive as music.
