Werner Pirchner “EU”

This is an album released in 1986 by ECM New Series, featuring Austrian composer and multi-instrumentalist Werner Pirchner, who has engaged in a wide variety of creative activities without adhering to a specific genre for many years. The album includes a range of contemporary/modern classical pieces composed by Pirchner from the 1970s to the 1980s. It features a sonata for accordion and voice (A1), a piece featuring members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (A2), a violin solo (B1), a symphony performed by Ensemble Kontrapunkte (B2), an excerpt from the opera "Liebe. Glück…und Politik!" (C2), and a solo for vibraphone and voice performed by Pirchner himself (D2). This excellent work allows listeners to enjoy Pirchner's diverse styles in a two-disc volume.
