"White Orange," a group of eight jazz musicians from five countries including Tim Hagans (tp,fh) and Hector Bingert (ts,ss,ft), released their first album on the Swedish label Caprice in 1980. This is an excellent work featuring refreshing and sophisticated jazz grooves throughout, such as A3, a Brazilian crossover track with breezy samba rhythms, cool horn sections, and dazzling violin and piano, and B1, a jazz-funk track with percussion-driven funk beats, thrilling horns, and light guitar.
