This album, released in 1959, is by American saxophonist Willie Jackson, who joined Cootie Williams' orchestra in the mid-1940s, led his own orchestra in the 1950s, and produced numerous solo works from the 1960s onward. The quintet features Bill Jennings (guitar), Jack McDuff (organ), Tommy Potter (bass), and Alvin Johnson (drums). The US reissue, remastered by Phil De Lancie, was released in 1988. This masterpiece showcases bluesy and moody soul jazz throughout, with Jack McDuff's Hammond organ being the highlight. His presence alone adds an incredible soulful vibe to the music.
