An album released in 1986 by Winston Mankunku, a South African saxophonist who had been active since the late 1960s, participating in projects such as The Chris Schilder Quintet and The Cliffs, as well as collaborating with Mike Makhale. The album features a host of South African musicians, including keyboardist Mike Perry, who later released a duo work with Mankunku in 1997. The album showcases an exceptional blend of World Music infused with the flavors of South African folk music, such as Zulu influences. It also combines the unique melodic sensibilities of South Africa, exemplified by figures like Dollar Brand. This work stands as a remarkable example of Cape Jazz from the mid-1980s, exhibiting a distinctive crossover feeling.
