An album by Japanese pianist Yuko Yamaoka, who taught at Toho Gakuen School of Music and Ferris University, nurturing many successors. The album includes works by Akira Miyoshi and Akio Yashiro, which she actively performed at the time. In this work, she plays piano sonatas by both composers. The A-side, composed by Miyoshi, consists of three movements and employs a technique that expands chromatic lines into diatonic scales in the later part. The B-side, composed by Yashiro, also consists of three movements and is said to be heavily influenced by Beethoven's "Piano Sonata Op. 102." However, both works are far from the nostalgic classicism and exhibit a free-spirited approach.
A1: Akira Miyoshi “Sonata for Piano - Alegro Adajo”
B2: Akio Yashiro “Sonata for Piano - Toccata, Alegro Ritomico”
