An album released in 1976 by Atrium Musicae de Madrid, an early music ensemble founded in 1964 by Gregorio Paniagua, a leading authority on early music and a performer from Madrid, Spain. The ensemble included his son, Luis Paniagua—one of the key figures in blending Arabic and Mediterranean classical music with contemporary and New Age Spanish music—as well as his brother, Eduardo. In this work, Paniagua, who was not only a musicologist but also trained in medicine, explores the Italian dance Tarantella from a unique perspective. He reinterprets it through the lens of Andalusian folklore, his primary area of study, elevating it into a distinct musical world. Adding to its mystique, the album’s artwork features The Garden of Earthly Delights, the famous painting by early Flemish master Hieronymus Bosch. This is the original French pressing.
