Cayenne
An Evening in Jaffa
Groove Production (UK) 1981
GPLP 30 (LP) Original pressing,
sleeve : EX-(some light wear on edge and corner.)
media : EX/EX(some slightly noises.)

The first album by Cayenne, a group formed in London by Robert Greenfield. Released in 1973, it features a light, Latin groove cover of Freddie Hubbard's classic from "Backlash" on track A1, and a funky disco track on B1 with slap bass, a bright horn ensemble, and female vocals. The album includes many groovy, danceable tracks that blend Afro-Cuban and other Latin feelings in a crossover style characteristic of a London jazz band. Track A4 is a superb mid-tempo mellow tune with a floating sensation. This album hints at the future rise of the club jazz and acid jazz scene. It’s a perfect record to brighten up various summer occasions.

A1: Little Sunflower
A4: Kensal Sunrise
B1: Robert Who…?
