This is a 1987 album by the German jazz group Die Elefanten, featuring Andreas Weiser, a member of the ethnic jazz group Xiame, as mentioned in the guidebook "OBSCURE SOUND REVISED EDITION." Produced by the highly skilled New York engineer Teo Macero, known for his work with Miles Davis and Lounge Lizards, among others. The album features an array of tracks showcasing an experimental ethno-jazz sound, including B2, where a muted trumpet with bright reverb dances coolly over organic rhythms crafted by Latin percussion and berimbau; and B3, where a horn section layers melancholic melodies over solid percussion beats, creating a beautiful Afro-Cuban jazz piece. Throughout the album, there's a cutting-edge sound filled with openness and experimentation. This hidden gem resonates with a vibe akin to the works of Yasuaki Shimizu and Mariah.
