An album released in 1979 by Masahiko Sato, one of Japan's leading jazz pianists who has continued to be active on the front lines since his debut with the leader album "Palladium" in 1969. The sextet includes Dave Liebman (ss, ts, as), Ryo Kawasaki (g), Harvey Mason (ds), Francisco Centeno (b), and Rubens Bassini (per), with guest appearances by Randy Brecker (tp) and others. As expected from this lineup of the era, the album showcases super-technical fusion with extraordinarily complex compositions and phenomenal interplay. The A1 track, with its Caribbean disco-like vibe, is also excellent. The artwork is superb.
A1: Sapajou Walk
A3: Salamander
