This is the only masterpiece released in 1987 under the name Low Flying Aircraft, a project consisting of Dan Maurer (dr), Jim Juhn (g,perc), David Cross (violin), and Keith Tippett (piano), featuring Ron Linton (ts,cln), Eric Drew Feldman (synth), and Paul Burwell (perc). A1/A2 are squalls of electric guitars and synthesizers, B1 is a mysterious interplay of primitive percussion and noisy violins, and the break beats are punctuated by percussion and low-fat drums, while synth pads and saxophones dance in the dense atmosphere. This is a badass disc featuring everything from abstract jazz rock to spiritual contemporary jazz performed by a group of skilled musicians.
