Female synthesizer unit Cosmos—comprised of Roman Kaieda, Keiko Tsuchii, and Yumiko Tanaka—released this album in 1982. Backed by a first-rate cast of session players including Kiyoshi Sugimoto, Fujimaru Yoshino, Takayuki Hijikata, and Akira Okazawa, the record is largely filled with easy listening material that sounds like it could be playing in a supermarket. That said, A5 is the one track that shines with overwhelming intensity. Arranged by keyboardist Hiroyuki Namba, it is a killer instrumental boogie tune, driven by a funky rhythm and a gorgeous brass section reminiscent of contemporaneous Minako Yoshida backing tracks, with a spacey synthesizer carrying the melody. Even so, the easy listening-oriented cuts have their own oddly irresistible charm.

A3: 夕映えのラ・マンチャ
A4: 忘れな草
A5: ミッドナイト・シャッフル
