This is the masterpiece and the only album released in 1977 by the jazz-rock group Real Ax Band, hailing from Germany, on the highly acclaimed April Records label, known for producing a plethora of psychedelic and deep jazz-rock acts including Embryo, Munju, and Missus Beastly. This particular release is a legitimate reissue in a 180g heavyweight format, issued in 2001 by the venerable Krautrock label FunfUndVierzig. If Embryo can be associated with Africa/Arabia, Real Ax Band leans more towards a Latin/Brazilian vibe. It features organic percussion, graceful piano, and flute that dance with lightness, delivering a groove-laden, funky, and psychedelic crossover jazz-rock extravaganza. The vocals of Maria Archer, the female vocalist, are also exceptional.
