Zoom, a group featuring four young musicians at the forefront of the Japanese jazz scene: Naoki Kitajima (key), Kazumasa Akiyama (g), Kenji Nishiyama (tb), Nobuyoshi Ino (b), and joined with Motohiko Hino (dr). This is the first and only album released in 1982 from Better Days. The main style of the album is the technical fusion that was flourishing at the time, led by Katsumi Watanabe, but the deep approach of the music includes A3, a spiritual slow tune featuring singer Kimiko Ito, and B2, a beautiful contemporary jazz tune with a delicate description reminiscent of the ECM group. The music is very appealing.
