1975 leader album by American drummer Elvin Jones, who emerged on the Detroit jazz scene in the late 40s and from the mid-50s onwards was the backbone of John Coltrane, showcasing his skills on many historic recordings. Trio album featuring keyboard player Jan Hammer and bassist Gene Peria. A hidden masterpiece with a jazz-rock approach unique to the 70s, from the extremely energetic drumming, fat bass and sky-high synthesiser and electric piano on the semi-pleasant crossovers to the meltingly mellow ballad tunes. All songs are great.
